The Networks and Planning Directorate of the NHS Executive are recruiting three Network Support Manager posts for the following networks:

Network Support Manager for the NSCN for Women's Health Network Support Manager for the NSCN for Musculoskeletal Conditions Network Support Manager for NSCN for Child Health

Strategic Clinical Networks are an essential national vehicle for joint working between key stakeholders including NHS Wales, Welsh Government and the third sector to improve the outcomes and experience for the population of Wales. Integral to this is the need for continuous improvement and transformational change across a range of our services and approaches and the role of the Strategic Clinical Network is to support this at national, regional and local levels.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Network Manager and National Network Clinical Lead, the Network Support Manager will be responsible for a wide range of duties aimed at ensuring the success and effectiveness of the clinical network. Main duties include:

To identify and understand the needs of stakeholders, and provide sound judgement and diplomatic skills, keeping them informed of progress against work plans. To establish effective reporting and review mechanisms to ensure projects delivery tangible improvements in services for the population of To be responsible for the development, facilitation and monitoring of the delivery of work plans, project managing the implementation of the work plans to meet objectives. To plan, arrange and administer Network meetings and events. Facilitating and supporting the development of papers and updates and managing any ongoing actions. To manage risks to the work plans and develop contingency plans as and when necessary. To provide line management support to any administrative support staff aligned to the Network. To provide verbal and written reports as requested by NHS Wales Executive, Networks and Planning directorate, Welsh Government, and other stakeholders. Regularly research best practice to ensure the achievement of the Network's objectives. Develop associated policies for the Strategic Network to affect service change across Wales.

Job description

Job responsibilities

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, results focused individual to shape and deliver exciting projects of work within a National Strategic Clinical Network (NSCN) to support health boards/trust to improve the delivery of key health services across Wales.

As a Network Support Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing healthcare outcomes and transforming healthcare delivery. In this position, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction within the clinical network support teams, ensuring the efficient operation and alignment of clinical networks with organisational goals and work plans. The role will monitor and report against identified key performance indicators, using a variety of data sources. They will lead in stakeholder engagement, and communication strategy, building effective relationships with clinical and managerial colleagues both internal and external to the NHS Wales. Your expertise will be crucial in driving collaborative efforts among healthcare professionals, facilitating data-driven decision-making, and implementing innovative solutions to address healthcare challenges.

The post holder will provide coordination and programme management support to the Strategic Network. This will include preparing for and chairing group meetings and responsibility for reporting of progress, including the tracking of outcomes, benefits realisation and spending for the work programme. The post holder will need to develop good relationships and work closely with a broad range of partners including the National Clinical Leads, Chairs, Welsh Government, Health Board colleagues, patients, third sector and other stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of the work plan.

Working from home for part of the week can be supported subject to agreement on appointment.

Qualifications

Essential

NVQ Level 6, Degree or equivalent level of experience. Prince 2 / Agile Project Manager practitioner or equivalent, or demonstrable practical experience.

Desirable

Advanced ECDL or equivalent experience IQT Silver

Experience

Experience of communicating with all levels of professional staff and the public. Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive data and appropriate maintenance and storage of records. Experience of project implementation and monitoring performance indicators of ongoing projects. Experience of managing finance systems budget monitoring. Experience of managing, maintaining and developing systems and procedures. Experience of implementing administrative policies and procedures. Experience of using data to drive improvement

Desirable

Experience of working within/ or with health services. Understanding of project management methodologies. Experience of formal minute taking. Proven success at applying quality/service improvement methodology. Experience of process mapping exercises.

Knowledge

Essential

Thorough understanding of administrative procedures. Knowledge of Health services

Advanced Microsoft Project.
