Brief Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the HEAM Buildings and Structures CEFA/CAFA Programme team as it embarks upon the next stage of expansion.

W&W HEAM B&S CEFA/CAFA programme team carries out work region wide from Fishgaurd in the West Wales, through the major cities of Cardiff, Swindon, Reading, London and Plymouth down to the west country Devon, Cornwall. The HEAM B&S CEFA/CAFA team manages all of the Building and Structures assets within the region that includes Civil Engineering, Buildings, Drainage & Off-Track, fixed Structures, tunnels Bridges Viaducts and retaining walls within the route. 

This particular role delivers projects for our team within the CEFA/CAFA side and will include working alongside our project managers and also managing contracts and inspections with our external contractor partners.

The team delivers an ever-increasing work bank, currently over £24.4m per annum, which will increase to over £27m per annum in the next Control Period. We achieve this through a mix of both direct delivery and contracted works.

Mae'r rôl benodol hon yn cyflawni prosiectau ar gyfer ein tîm o fewn ochr CEFA/CAFA a bydd yn cynnwys gweithio ochr yn ochr â'n rheolwyr prosiect a hefyd rheoli contractau ac arolygiadau gyda'n partneriaid contractwyr allanol.

Mae'r tîm yn darparu banc gwaith sy'n cynyddu'n barhaus, dros £24.4m y flwyddyn ar hyn o bryd, a fydd yn cynyddu i dros £27m y flwyddyn yn y Cyfnod Rheoli nesaf. Rydym yn cyflawni hyn trwy gymysgedd o gyflenwi uniongyrchol a gwaith wedi'i gontractio.

About the role (External)

Your Main Responsibilities will be to:

·Deliver individual projects or parts of projects in a safe & environmentally responsible manner to time, cost and quality, in accordance with the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP), applicable Network Rail company standards, current legislation and procedures including HMRI guidance where appropriate.

·Provide a professional, consistent and effective project management service including the use of performance indicators and project reporting systems in accordance with Railway Group and Network Rail’s company standards and guidelines.

·Manage the development and delivery of change projects in compliance with company processes and procedures.

·Manage tactical change and risks within the project life cycle for allocated schemes.

·Assist or lead in the provision of a safe working environment in the execution of managed work.

·Comply with the Investment Competence Framework.

·Manage the production of project management plans

·Manage project budgets within agreed targets

·Deliver regular progress reports on change projects, including relevant risks and issues, to the Programme Manager.

·Promote and monitor the use of efficiency improvement methods.

·Disseminate lessons learnt.

You will ideally have

·Successful relevant experience including project management.

·Educated to HNC/HND or similar standard.

·Good interpersonal and communication skills.

·Project safety management experience

·Knowledge of Oracle Projects

·Knowledge of safety, quality and environmental procedures.

·Knowledge of commercial and financial procedures.

What could set you apart

·Membership (or working towards membership) of the Association for Project Management or other professional body.

·A degree or equivalent.

·Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
