**Development and Housing Directorate - **Preston is at an unprecedented stage in its development. With over £20m of Towns Fund grant, major leisure and public realm projects underway, a new commercial quarter planned at Preston station and the ongoing implementation of the multi-award-winning City Living Strategy alongside the delivery of thousands of new homes and major infrastructure investment and delivery through the City Deal, Preston has developed a new confidence for positive change.

We are investing in our Building Control service in order to deliver our corporate priorities. We are seeking an enthusiastic, well organised and self-motivated individual who can work as part of a team but also individually using their own initiative to take up this role within the Building Control team. You will be required to work to deadlines, therefore you must have good time management skills. You will provide technical and administrative support to the Building Control team and therefore a Level 2 or 3 Building Control Technical Administration Certificate would be highly advantageous. You will be responsible for managing the income of the service, invoicing and issuing receipts, reconciliation of Building Control budgets and assisting with accounting reports of the wider Directorate budget. You will need to have an extensive understanding of Microsoft Office products and electronic document management systems. You must have excellent communication skills to deal with a wide range of customers, including the public, building contractors and professionals.
