Preston, United Kingdom Confido Consult Full time

A leading Approved Inspector is newly seeking an experienced Building Control Surveyor (or Warranty Inspector) to service development sites in the Preston area (patch also includes Blackburn and Blackpool areas).

**The Role**:
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into an existing & successful patch with a good variety of project types and low workload (the opening is only due to a retirement). This business takes a quality over quantity approach, with Surveyor expectation being a mere 3 site visits per day and 2 plan checks per week, giving you ample time to focus on providing a high calibre service. You will be remote based, with flexibility to manage your own diary, travelling to development sites only within the Preston, Blackburn & Blackpool areas.

**The Company**:
A medium-sized AI with a strong reputation in the Midlands and a fantastic company culture. This business truly offers something unique, evident by their low targets, flexibility and significant investment in training/development. Their Ops & Training Director is also a regular CABE assessor, which offers extensive support during BSR registration, including internal mock assessments. Subsequently, it is no surprise they offer one of the best staff retention rates in the industry.

As a reward for the value you bring to the business, you will have a very realistic opportunity at a 10% annual bonus (if the low targets are met), nearly £5000 Car Allowance, 45p/mile, 38 days total leave, enhanced pension, private healthcare, life insurance and more.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To deliver agreed procedures to provide effective building control services on a range of projects in terms of size and complexity
- Review of plans and other associated matters for compliance with building regs and associated legislation
- Delivery of site inspections and testing of building works for compliance with building regs and associated legislation
- Liaison with applicants, agents, consultants/statutory bodies and the public

- Full or part Membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CABE or CIOB
- Ability to build and maintain positive customer/client relationships
