**_Frontline/ Hybrid role: a combination of working from an office/ youth outreach setting and working from home._**
The team requires an Education, Employment and Training Adviser to provide intensive and aspirational employment support to vulnerable young people aged 18-25 who are unemployed, including care leavers, young people with experience of the youth justice system, and those with no other contact with targeted council services.
You will use a personalised and holistic one-to-one mentoring and coaching approach to help the young people gain suitable jobs including apprenticeships. You will also engage vulnerable young people with a programme of bespoke support, work experience and skills activities.
Additionally, you will support the wider work of the service in improving outcomes for vulnerable groups and residents who face additional barriers to employment.
The successful post holder will be working from the Youth Employment Hub at Corker Walk.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Organise and manage a case-load of clients aged 18-25 ensuring these clients are seen as needed, using a personalised, holistic job coaching and mentoring approach to support them in their journey to employment.
- Work in a community based, peripatetic way, engaging with young people at a range of outreach locations according to local and individual need.
- Undertake effective assessment with young people through the agreed processes to establish priorities and aims with each individual. Implement guidance and brokerage skills to meet the agreed priorities and aims.
- To focus on building confidence and self-esteem and working with young people's strengths and to incorporate this as part of their ways of working.
- To be tenacious and determined in supporting clients to achieve their goals and supporting them along the way.
- To develop a meaningful action plan with clients to determine job goals and progress towards the labour market, using coaching methods to empower the client to take control of their own development and achievements
- To understand the underlying issues and challenges faced by clients and support them with these and identify and signpost to relevant specialist and support services.
- Where relevant to refer the client to a bespoke programme of opportunities which can consist of functional skills delivery, therapeutic and specialist support services and pre-employment and work experience opportunities to help them build up their skills and prepare for work.
- Supporting clients to successfully market themselves to employers and to source jobs, giving them the skills they need to become self-sufficient and less dependent on support services.
- Build and maintain relationships with specialist agencies, including Targeted and Specialist Services and the voluntary sector, working with young people with particular vulnerabilities on your caseload and ensure that information and data is shared and work allocated efficiently.

**Qualifications**:
- Coaching or information, advice and guidance (IAG) qualification (preferable)
**Skills & experience**:
- Substantial experience and strong track record of working with vulnerable young people aged 18-25 to support their career development and employment, education and training outcomes
- Experience of job coaching or mentoring
- Experience of working with employers to enhance employment opportunities for young people leading to positive outcomes
- Experience of working as part of a team, sharing knowledge and skills
- Ability to engage positively and proactively with a diverse range of people, showing empathy, patience and active listening skills and focusing on people’s strengths and aspirations as a driver to achieve goals
