The Emergency Department is a busy, fast paced, and exciting and as a CE you will respond to the dynamic challenges and changes of this.

We are looking for a Motivated, innovative, and influential person to join or ED team Who can provide leadership and education in line with local and national guidance.

As a CE in the Emergency department will be responsible for on the floor clinical supervision and teaching of our team. The CE will facilitate the development of our registered and unregistered staff.

CE’s will be vital in helping the team to adjust to any changes in processes and policy and help drive the changes forward.

CE’s will deliver training on a flexible working pattern to include the support, teaching and mentoring within the 24hour period covering weekends, evenings and nights if needed.

The CE will support pre-registration students, practice assessors and mentors and also preceptorship.

The CE will work in collaboration with the senior management team to maintain and project the vision and objectives of the service and ensure that they are embedded in practice. The post holder will lead by example, will be responsible for disseminating good practice and actively challenging assumptions, practice and performance where appropriate.

Uphold high standards of care and act as a role model for staff.

Support all new starters to the clinical area

Provide pastoral and wellbeing support to staff.

Offer career guidance and information of opportunities for development.

Plan, create, deliver and evaluation training based on the needs of the area and the division under the supervision of the practice educator.

Deliver teaching on in-house courses where needed

Support staff to complete clinical competencies.

Support with recruitment and retention of staff.

Support development of staff in need of performance improvement.

Be enthusiastic, motivated, friendly, and approachable.

Be organised, have good time management skills and the ability to work autonomously when required.

Work well as part of a team and build relationships with staff, managers, and other educators.

There are strong links between staff well being, training and education and retention of staff. The CE will also be expected to ensure staff receive not only educational support but also address any wellbeing concerns liaising with the trusts support our staff (SOS) service.
