Rehabilitation Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, forward thinking rehabilitation assistant to work in the Adult Community Rehabilitation Team across both physical and neurological teams. The post holder will work with therapists providing rehabilitation to clients in the community.
The Adult Community Rehab Team is a large forward thinking service that provides inter-disciplinary rehabilitation to clients 18+. The team is split into two specialist branches (neurological conditions and physical conditions). ACRT consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Dietitians, Clinical & Neuropsychology, Rehabilitation Assistants & Administrators.
The team is supported by a Consultant Allied Health Professional, Consultant Neuropsychologist, a Consultant Neurologist, Parkinson’s disease Practitioner and MS Practitioner.
The service is essentially community based; however there is opportunity to provide intervention in our onsite outpatient facilities. Therapeutic intervention is goal-directed, and you will be required to work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
This post will give you the opportunity to work alongside the therapists, carrying out a range of different treatment interventions as well as some assessment and administration duties. An understanding of the field of rehabilitation would be advantageous. This post would suit an individual who is interested and motivated in developing their skills in community based rehabilitation. The client group is very diverse, clinically, economically and culturally.
In return for your experience, motivation and enthusiasm our team will give you the opportunity to develop your skills through:
Regular supervision and support from senior specialist clinicians
Opportunity to supervise Band 3 assistants
Regular in-service programmes and further CPD opportunities
Involvement in service development projects
Dependant on service requirements we offer opportunities for flexible working and we actively value and encourage CPD.
