**ACCOUNTABLE TO**: Therapy Heads of Service

JOB SUMMARY

The post holder will assist therapists to maintain a high standard of patient care by undertaking delegated clinical programmes of management and administrative duties to support in-patients’ pathway.

Rehabilitation Assistants do not hold a professional qualification, and work only under the direction of qualified therapists (Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy) and require a period of induction and training, approximately three months, to achieve required competency to perform all tasks.

The above post is based at the new Neuro rehabilitation Team on Ontario Unit at Orpington Hospital. The post involves working in a multi-professional team comprising of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists as well as with the nursing staff to implement rehabilitation programs as well as complete some necessary administration tasks.

Applicants should be able to work independently and as part of a team. They will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be committed to further personal and professional development.
