About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Rehabilitation Assistant to join our Neuro Rehabilitation Team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the rehabilitation of patients with neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist therapists in implementing care plans to support the rehabilitation of patients with neurological conditions.
  • Provide health education and advice to patients, carers, and their families.
  • Support the Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech & Language Therapists in carrying out delegated duties.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and produce communication charts and other speech & language therapy resources as requested.
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients to carry out rehabilitation programmes.
  • Undertake any clerical duties as necessary, including maintaining stock levels, registering patients, filing, typing, photocopying, and maintaining the therapy environment.

Person Specification
  • Good English literacy and mathematical numeracy.
  • Level 3 in Healthcare or demonstrated evidence of working at that level.
  • Therapy-based assistant experience and rehabilitation of patients in a health setting.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to communicate in a variety of different situations and to overcome communication barriers and language difficulties.
