Data Protection Advisor

**The purpose of the role**:
To effectively and professionally manage data protection related internal and external queries received to the data protection mailbox in a timely manner and support the Data Protection Manager with broader data protection matters.
**What you will be doing**:
- Manage and respond to data protection enquiries, including DSARs, third-party requests, and personal data breaches.
- Support investigations into serious personal data breaches alongside the Data Protection Manager.
- Review business area compliance with RoPA, DPIAs, LIAs, and conduct education and awareness sessions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business for accurate and timely task delivery.
- Keep full records, produce stats, and respond to general data protection enquiries.
- Be the voice of data protection and raise awareness as an advocate.
- Act as the first point of contact for internal Data Champions.
**Some of the skills and experience we are looking for**:
Essential
- Appreciation for data protection/privacy issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise and work independently.
- Discretion in handling sensitive personal data.
- Excellent ICT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Desirable
- Good working knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and associated legislation.
- Data Protection-related qualification or similar.
- 12 months of regulatory compliance experience in a commercial environment.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar systems.
