**_Position Overview_**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hospitality/Catering Operations Supervisor to join our team based in London, SW1A. As Hospitality/Catering Operations Supervisor you will oversee the day to day running of hospitality and events at the prestigious and historic site.

As an integral part of the Catering Team, reporting directly to the Deputy Catering Manager, you will be responsible for the provision of a professional, friendly and efficient food and beverage service to customers, whilst supervising a diverse team of hospitality & Catering staff.

**_Main Duties_**
- To take direct responsibility for the supervision of functions as instructed by the Deputy Catering Manager and Management Team across multiple sites within the Affiliates cluster.
- To support Head Chef and Catering Management to update and constant evolution of the Hospitality brochure, to ensure it is up to date and in keeping with market trends. Working closely with the head chef and management to ensure all new food and beverage items can be delivered on.
- To ensure that all hospitality and event specifications are met in accordance with the contract KPIs and SLAs.
- On a daily basis to look after hospitality, event organisers and attendees, ensuring an end to end service to the customer.
- To supervise a small team of staff and operatives
- Being the main point of contact for the hospitality team and the client throughout the planning process up to completion of the event.
- To be pleasant and courteous to VIP guests and clients at all times so that they feel welcome and comfortable
- To ensure on all occasions you observe and practice safe and hygienic working practices in accordance with industry and company standards HACCP plans.
- Reporting of any general maintenance issues requiring further action.
- Ensure that all relevant departments are kept up to date with information on all details of hospitality and events and communicating any changes.
- Ensuring all relevant revenues is recharged, passed for Invoicing and ensure full recovery of income. Records to be maintained on the CAFM system.
- To Coordinate and motivate staff and ensure all staff conduct themselves in a professional manner
- To escalate any operational or personnel issues to the Deputy Catering Manager.
- To perform any other duties deemed necessary for the smooth and efficient running of the Catering Department.
- Ensure staffing levels for all events are booked and agreed with management.
- Liaise with the kitchen department on all menus and food requirements, including special requests/dietary requirements.
- Ensure that all staff for each event are fully briefed and competent to carry out the required services
- To work and execute effectively within the delegated budget for events.
- To ensure their team is fully up to date with Mandatory training, and ongoing training such as Tool Box talks, L2 food safety, Customer service training. As well as online Ilearn courses that are completed in a timely manner
- Be flexible in their work approach and support other catering service lines as and when is needed.

**_Person Specification_**
- 3 years prior experience of supervising the catering provision for events/meetings in a high profile corporate environment.
- IT competent and good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and spoken
- First Aid Trained
- A self-driven individual, with a proactive and positive approach to change.
- Good at decision making and confident in exercising correct judgments.
- Ability to prioritise different tasks and requests coupled with proven organisation skills
