This is an interesting opportunity to join the Growth and Economic Regeneration Service, which is leading on delivery of the two-year, £4 million Home Upgrade Grant project across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Dorset, and Poole. You will be supporting the Project Manager with the monitoring, administration, and delivery of the project.

This post offers the flexibility of working in a hybrid way, based in County Hall as well as working from home. Colleagues keep in day-to-day contact through Microsoft Teams and meet in person for specific meetings and events and occasionally for team catch-ups.

**What you can expect to be doing**:
The post is part of the Economic Growth and Regeneration Service, who are primarily responsible for enabling the creation and retention of good quality, well-paid jobs in Dorset. We do this mainly through helping businesses start, stay, grow and move to Dorset, and helping develop the skills needed to meet the demand.
In addition to good jobs, Dorset residents need quality, affordable homes: The Home Upgrade Grant Project aims to reduce fuel poverty by improving homes to a minimum energy efficiency rating of Band C by 2030 and enable the delivery of the wider Net Zero programme to phase out high-carbon heating for homes off the mains gas grid. It will deliver energy improvement measures to homes, including Insulation, renewable energy and low carbon heating.

We are looking for someone that will add to and compliment the team’s existing skills and experience. A substantial part of your role will relate to the monitoring and data - which homes are having what combination of improvements, how much it costs, when the work is being done etc - requirements of the project. You will also be assisting with liaising with public and private sector delivery agencies, informing partners and suppliers of administration and reporting requirements, and providing administrative support and record keeping to the Healthy Homes Dorset Steering Group and other governance bodies.

The service works collaboratively across the Council and with strategic partners, to promote wellbeing and secure the best outcomes and value for Dorset's residents and customers.

With this post there is the opportunity to undertake a Level 3 apprenticeship in Business Administration, through Weymouth College, which will be fully funded by Dorset Council.

**About you**:
You will have an interest in improving Dorset residents’ wellbeing.
You will have a good understanding of a range of office practices in an office or home-office environment.
You will have some experience of assisting in successful project delivery or reading an interpreting written and numerical data.
You will have the ability to assist in the production and updating of project templates describing what needs to be done, what has been done, and how much money has been allocated and spent, to ensure timely reporting of outputs, results and financial information.
You will be able to contribute to team work as well as the ability to work on your own initiative.
You will have good written and oral communication skills.
You will be able to understand and summarise information rapidly.
You will be able to organise own workload effectively, prioritising tasks and working to defined deadlines.
Knowledge and experience of local government, housing, wellbeing, or energy efficiency policy and practice is an advantage but not essential.

**Additional Information**

This is a new fixed-term post to 28th April 2025. it is offered as a 37 hour a week full time post but we would welcome proposals for other arrangements including secondments, flexible working patterns, and continuing existing apprenticeships providing apprenticeship requirements could
