Activities Coordinator

**PURPOSE OF POSITION**
1. To meet the social needs of clients and/or day care service users, in a way that respects the dignity and choice of the individual and promotes fulfillment.
2 In conjunction with the senior team, plan and run a program of activities for the clients or/day care service users linked to assessed social needs identified in care plans.
3 To help maintain in the home the atmosphere and practice of care based on the Values of Bablake House deriving from a concern for the individual and mutual respect between clients and staff.
**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
1. Undertake activities with a group or individual clients under the guidance of a senior member of staff making use of available community resources external to the home.
2. Help in the promotion of social, physical and spiritual activity of clients in accordance with the agreed activities program.
3. Be responsible for the design and implementation of the activities program in liaison with Key workers, family, advocates, friends, volunteers and other outside agencies.
4. To contribute to the development and reviewing of care plans.
5. Keep appropriate records of activities and assessment forms review the development of clients involved in the activities.
6. Support clients with accessing a range of IT options including social media, Skype etc
7. Continually update through reading and training of any new developments, which would assist, the activities program.
8. Occasionally to assist care assistants in carrying out personal care duties.
9. Participate and assist in the induction of new staff as in accordance with the induction policy.
10. Attend and participate in staff meetings
11. Be responsible for tidying rooms used for activities, the safe use, storage and maintenance of equipment; updating equipment within agreed budget.
12. Attend training and development sessions as appropriate including moving and handling. This may involve travelling to other locations.
13. Consider the health and safety implications of the activities and ensure that adequate risk assessments are carried out.
14. Attend and participate regular supervision and appraisal sessions.
15. Be aware of and adhere to the organisation's Health and Safety Policy and the requirements of the Food Safety Manual.
16. Be aware and adhere to the HR policies contained in the Employment Policies and procedures manual.
17. There may be a requirement to travel to Head Office or other locations for the purpose of meetings or training relevant to this post.
18. This is not a complete description of the duties and responsibilities of the post of Activities Co-Ordinator, and the post holder is expected to carry out other reasonable duties as required by the Care Manager,

Part-time hours: 16 per week
**Salary**: £10.50-£11.00 per hour
