We are looking for new team members who are compassionate and empathetic, and have the skills to learn how to deliver 1 to 1 and group interventions and support CYP people effectively on their treatment journey in CAMHS.

Buckinghamshire CAMHS are looking for 3 people to join our Targeted Service, working in our CAMHS Buddy role. These roles are rewarding, varied and offer opportunities for learning and development that could result in progression into other roles within the service.

The Targeted service provides short term interventions to children and young people (0 to 18-year-olds) with mild to moderate mental health needs.

It supports the treatment of children and young people with low to moderate mental health disorders including:

- Traits of mild Anxiety disorders
- Mild low mood
- Mild Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders.

The pathway also supports young people who require emotional regulation work in conjunction with low-moderate mental health disorder support and DBT skills work.

The pathway delivers various groups such as Teen Low Mood, Teen anxiety, DBT group, ASD/Anxiety and Parent anxiety groups. We also deliver a post diagnostic support group for parents of children under the age of 11 who have received a diagnosis of Autism.

The post holder will deliver interventions to children/young people (CYP) and their families across Buckinghamshire, in order to support these CYP with their low to moderate mental health difficulties. The role involves holding a case load.

This exciting role aims to provide a platform to develop your journey within CAMHS. It represents an opportunity for those who have an interest in mental health to expand their learning and work directly with children, young people delivering evidence based short interventions.

The roles are full time and based at our Sue Nichols Centre, with flexibility for home working (i.e. seeing patients virtually) based on the services of the service. Week to week the extent that you will be home or office based can vary, based on the needs of the patients you're supporting

The post holder must be able to travel efficiently to various locations across Buckinghamshire, including to more rural areas, in order to visit patients.
- To work with CYP and their families on a one to one or group basis using a variety of evidence based interventions. You will work with the CYP to identify their needs and achieve post outcomes, using routine outcome measures (ROMS)
- You will work to build rapport and trust with the patient and increase their confidence
- Integral to the role is supporting CYP to grow and develop positive activities in their lives, to support with their mental health recovery and their ongoing wellbeing once they've been discharged
- To work in partnership with parents/carers to empower them to support their child's wellbeing
- To work in partnership with other services involved with the young person, as necessary
