SECTION 1 MAIN DUTIES CONTINUED To work with the Trusts business intelligence team to ensure accurate weekly performance reports are produced from the Ulysses system. To promote the work of the Patient Safety team across the Trust by communicating and engaging with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff To promote the new patient safety incident response framework (PSIRF) To report serious incidents externally as required and inform commissioners of such incidents in accordance with reporting timeframes. To support in the allocation of serious incident investigation leads, obtaining patient notes and the formulation of investigation terms of reference. To assist in the monitoring of action plans and sharing of lessons learnt from serious incident investigations.

To participate and provide support on patient safety projects across the Trust. Maintain a programme of continuing professional development, including keeping up to date with clinical governance methodologies. To undertake other duties as designated by the Head of Patient Safety and, Patient Safety Officers. SECTION 2 - KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS The post holder is required to utilise their skill and judgement in relaying sensitive, confidential, complex and contentious information, dealing sensitively with complex and confidential information and potentially vulnerable and challenging individuals and situations including patients and the public.

Excellent computer literacy. Would be required to use Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel. The post holder must work in an organised manner to deliver the work allocated in a timely and efficient way. The post holder is required to present data in a format that reflects the communication needs of audiences and is required to deliver the data in a number of formats e.g.

written reports, data extractions. Excellent communication skills (face-to-face, written and by telephone) with staff from all levels of the Trust. Ability to explain patient safety and investigatory concepts to staff of all levels and understanding. Excellent time management and organisational skills.

SECTION 3- EFFORT AND ENVIRONMENT The post holder is required to spend periods of intense concentration on a frequent basis when giving, receiving and processing complex, confidential, and contentious information. The post holder must be able to adapt, be flexible and responsive without notice, whilst maintaining a confident approach to changing environments and circumstances. The post holder is required to undertake innovative approaches to the delivery of the associated programme of work through the development of associated strategy and policy Exposure to distressing information Supports staff through the statutory and mandatory processes of NHS risk/governance and CQC requirements associated with the patient safety programme of work
