**About the role**

In this role you will own financial processes, models, best in class toolkits, policy and standards in Operations Finance and to support and influence financial performance improvement in operations. Connect with operational leadership and finance business partner to promote operational and financial compliance, and continually improve standards. Leadership of the team to deliver the required enablement and finance transformational change.

**You will also**:

- Work with the field operations team and Finance Business Partners to influence, develop and deploy end to end performance management/business planning controls and processes
- Drive continuous process improvements and promote best practice across Operations
- Lead and facilitate the Every Penny Counts cost reduction programme reviews and support the Operations team to identify, implement and track cost reduction.
- Partner with HRS to implement and manage the end to end process for the accurate recording of casual and agency resource
- Drive the pace of business decision making, using facts, insight and commercial acumen, and influence business leadership to ensure resources are secured to deliver business change
- Design and implement standardised MI to drive and promote compliance
- Simplification of existing processes where necessary
- Instil operational financial control improvements and rigour in Field Operations
- Ensure financial and business controls remain relevant by working with accountable owners in Group or central functions
- Lead and develop the team to deliver the required performance objectives and statutory compliance requirements, and contributing to the wider professional development of Finance

**About You**

You are a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with significant experience of budget and target management along with a proven track record of challenging and influencing across a wide range of key stakeholders.

You are also an excellent communicator who can guide colleagues and staff with no financial background in their understanding of financial management.

**Additionally you have**:

- Experience in supporting development of medium term and short-term business plans
- The ability to create effective cross functional relationships, work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues
- Strong analytical and decision making skills
- A track record of implementing financial controls and process improvements
- Experience of working within a large a complex matrix organisation and can demonstrate the ability to manage multiple, and sometimes conflicting, priorities
- The ability to work at pace, to proactively identify and drive creative solutions
- Being a critical friend and not afraid of having difficult conversations when needed
- Ability to create effective cross functional relationships, work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues
