Katherine Low Settlement is a much-loved, busy charity that has been at the heart of the community in Battersea, South West London, since 1924.

With a few staff and a lot of volunteers, we run a range of our own community services, we campaign for social change and we support other charities and communities to thrive.

We support children, young people and their families, older people, women and refugees and newly-arrived communities.

Our building is used for community activities and events by over 500 people a week, and our rooms are available for hire at affordable rates.

We are grateful for the funding we receive from supporters, trusts and foundations to enable us to continue to reduce poverty and isolation and bring Battersea together.

Are you looking for experience tutoring young people? want to give back to your community?

Have you experience in education and want to volunteer helping a young person?

Love to Learn offers support and advocacy to families with children and young people from refugee backgrounds. We are working towards a future in which all young people fulfil their educational potential and do well, feel confident and enjoy learning.

Volunteering opportunities with **Love To Learn** include:

- **Homework and activities clubs based in our office in Battersea**

We have a number of clubs for children from the age of 5 to 18 years old. During the clubs there is an hour of homework help and then an hour of activities. We provide training and support - and a fun team to work with.
- **Learning mentor programme supporting a young person remotely**

**How do volunteers help?**

Supporting a young person with their school/college homework, inspiring, motivating and building confidence.

**What are we looking for?**

Club volunteers and/or mentors are asked to commit to their program for a full academic year. You will need to provide feedback and have a warm and supportive approach.

Some experience of working with young people ( not necessarily professional)

Non-judgemental attitude.
