Leading a small team, the postholder will develop a strategy for the management of distressed financial exposures across the Loan Team and ensure appropriate policy, processes and procedures are applied including risk and assurance activity. Working in collaboration with the portfolio monitoring function as well as other key stakeholders.

The postholder will also be required to use their existing financial and commercial experience in complex credit management and loan restructuring to shape financial advice on challenging situations, to deliver options analysis for use by DCMS.

**Role Purpose**:
The Complex Case Strategic Lead is responsible for the Complex Credit Management (CCM) function across the Sport Survival Package (SSP) loan portfolio which Sport England administer on behalf of the Government.

**Skills & Experience**:
**Essential**

A highly capable finance professional with experience in credit management.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to demonstrate a high degree of professional credibility, maintaining the confidence of Senior management and wider external stakeholders;
Excellent written communication skills with experience of presenting complex information to board, senior management level individuals and a wide range of stakeholders;
Experience in line management, motivating and coaching a team to deliver high quality data, reporting and advice;
Ability to prioritise multiple assignments with competing timeframes;
Validated experience of delivering through people by collaborating and building capability;
Experience managing difficult conversations and negotiations with external and internal stakeholders;
Experience in adopting project management principles and practices in delivery;
Strong analytical skills and proven experience of problem solving.

**Desirable**

Experience of restructuring / workouts and working knowledge of insolvency law;
Adept at building networks and able to influence senior stakeholders;
Knowledge of working in the public sector environment;
