We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Administrator/Workflow Coder to join Shakespeare Road Medical Practice, a forward thinking and innovative GP group providing primary care services for 13,500 patients. You will need to be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, be organised and have the ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team, within a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is essential along with an understanding, acceptance, and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
As a team player, you'll be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a customer focused approach. Previous experience of working within the NHS is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Title: Primary Care Administration Assistant (Coding)**
**Grade: Band 2**
**Reports to: Operations Support Lead**
**Role Purpose **To provide coding administration to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the practice whilst always providing good customer service experience for all patients.
Support the practice and provide cross-cover support to other sites across the Primary
Care division as required.
Ensure a friendly and professional ethos within the team/department for patients.

- **Responsibilities**
- Review all incoming correspondence and enter, using Snomed codes, pertinent information into the patients’ electronic medical record in accordance with the coding protocol. This will include data highlighted by clinicians as well as data required to meet contractual obligations.
- Organise the medical record of patients whom you are coding, to harmonise problem titles and assign the appropriate status to medical information.
- Recognise own knowledge limits and seek advice from clinical or administrative colleagues as appropriate.
- Assist with note summarising in accordance with the summarising protocol.
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and action logs for Coding meetings.
- Undertake any other responsibilities within the scope of the role that may be agreed from time to time.
