Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for healthcare administration? King Edward VII’s Hospital invites you to join our team as a Ward Clerk. In this part-time role (22.5 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday), you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of our ward. The Ward Clerk is responsible for managing patient records, coordinating appointments, and providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
**Key Responsibilities**:
As a Ward Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the ward. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Facilitating communication between healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
- Coordinating and scheduling patient appointments.
- Assisting in the admission and discharge processes.
- Maintaining inventory of office and medical supplies.
- Supporting general administrative tasks to ensure seamless operations.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Minimum high school diploma; relevant certification in office or healthcare administration is a plus.
- Proven experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.
**Working Conditions**:
Part-time position with regular hours on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Occasional flexibility in working hours may be required to meet the hospital’s operational needs.
