**About the job**:
**Salary: £33,945 - £36,648 per year**

You will be required to undertake office, court and bail duties to represent the Service, prepare reports for the criminal courts and monitor compliance and adherence to all statutory and non-statutory interventions in order to reduce the risk of criminal exploitation, offending, re-offending and/or harm to children and young people or to the public.

**About you**:
We are looking for someone who is able to assess, support and motivate young people including where levels of vulnerability and risk to themselves and to the public are medium to high.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop on your existing skills by making professional judgements in a multidisciplinary criminal justice setting and to negotiate appropriate resources.

We do ask that you have a relevant professional or degree level qualification (NVQ 4) associated with one of the partner agencies (A minimum of 2/8 posts in the service must have a recognised social work qualification) (NB: registered with the General Council of Social Work or UK equivalent if holding a social work qualification).

Applicants for this role will need to be able to work outside normal office hours including evenings and occasional Saturday and Bank Holiday court cover as well as be a car driver to enable regular and frequent visits both within and outside the Borough and provide transport for children, young people, parents etc.

**Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare all unspent cautions and convictions; and also any adult cautions (simple or conditional), and spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020). A person’s criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to this post. Applicants will not be refused posts because of offences which are not relevant to, and do not place them at or make them a risk in, the role for which they are applying. However in the event of the employment being taken up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority.**
