Job Summary:

Connect2Luton is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Youth Justice Officer to join their team within the Children, Families and Education department of Luton Borough Council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop intervention plans for children and young people in need of early intervention, prevention, and youth justice services.
  • Collaborate with various statutory and voluntary agencies to provide effective support and guidance to children and their families.
  • Act as a court and bail duty officer, ensuring compliance with departmental policy and Practice Standards in the Youth Court.
  • Represent the service at meetings with partner agencies, promoting positive relationships and effective communication.
  • Provide support and motivation to young people, including those with medium to high levels of vulnerability and risk.
  • Utilize a car to facilitate regular visits within and outside the Borough, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with children and families.
  • Ability to assess and support young people with complex needs, including those with medium to high levels of vulnerability and risk.
  • Valid driving license and access to a car.
  • DBS clearance.
