Job Title: Experienced Youth Justice Officer

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Justice Officer to join our dynamic Youth Service team in Luton.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of children and young people subject to early intervention, prevention, and youth justice services.
  • Develop, coordinate, implement, monitor, and review intervention plans tailored to the needs of young people and their families.
  • Manage a caseload, including challenging and complex cases, ensuring the provision of appropriate support and interventions.
  • Represent the service in court, undertaking office, court, and bail duties, preparing reports for criminal courts, and ensuring compliance with statutory and non-statutory interventions.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency teams to ensure the safeguarding of young people and promote positive outcomes.
  • Regularly monitor and review interventions to ensure effectiveness and adapt plans as needed to support the individual's progress.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience working with children, young people, and their families, particularly within early intervention or youth justice settings.
  • Strong understanding of youth justice, criminal exploitation, and safeguarding practices.
  • Ability to handle complex cases and engage effectively with vulnerable young people and their families.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with both young people and partner agencies.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage casework and administrative duties efficiently.
