We are looking for an HR Adviser to join the Human Resources team here at Norfolk County Council to help deliver a comprehensive HR advice and consultancy service across the organisation. Working closely with Assistants, Advisers and Consultants, you will have a portfolio of employee relations casework - absence and performance management, grievance, disciplinary and safeguarding. You'll support managers to address their people management issues by identifying pragmatic and creative solutions to difficult issues. You'll be supporting managers to compassionately and consistently manage cases that enable the employee to be successful in their role, or sometimes to reach an alternative outcome.

To be considered for the role, you'll need a background working in an HR role, and ideally will have achieved an HR qualification (ie CIPD). We are looking for someone who enjoys a positive team approach, is solution focussed, and able to respond quickly and effectively to the new issues that every day brings. You must be used to accessing information from a variety of electronic systems and be able to adapt to new systems. Training will be given on internal systems where a wealth of information is available to support you and managers on people management issues. You should be able to demonstrate excellent customer service. You will play a key role in supporting staff throughout the organisation through the transition to greater self-service so you should also be keen to respond to new ways of working together with providing ongoing support to colleagues across the wider team.
