Would you like to work in a new and award-winning adult eating disorders service working with a specialist multidisciplinary team?

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join this new and dynamic team within the HOPE Provider Collaborative, operating across parts of SE and SW England as we expand the Step Care model. Step Care is a Tier 4 Clinical Model developed here at Oxford Health offering an alternative to inpatient care by integrating community and inpatient services, underpinned by CBT-E. There are three phases: 1. Starting well (virtual Hospital at Home); 2. Time limited inpatient admission; 3. Staying well (virtual Hospital at Home). Early results indicate patient outcomes are significantly improved.

This post allows you to deliver safe, excellent care for vulnerable people and the opportunity to contribute to growing the evidence-base. through assisting evaluation and research.

Working across the geographical footprint of the HOPE Adult Eating Disorder PC, our approach enables more people to access services in a timely way, potentially avoid admission and follow a robust treatment pathway to ensure that their needs are met in a therapeutic recovery-based treatment model.

CLINICAL

To carry out, under supervision, protocol-based psychological assessments, implement evidence-based psychological treatment and evaluate and make decisions about treatment options.

To attend and contribute to MDT meetings and assist in the development and delivery of therapeutic groups for patients.

To maintain the highest standard of clinical record keeping and robust data collection, including use of routine outcome and patient experience measures.

TEACHING, TRAINING AND SUPERVISION

To provide advice, consultation and training to staff working with the patient group across a range of agencies and settings, where appropriate.

RESEARCH AND SERVICE EVALUATION

To contribute to the development, monitoring and evaluation of operational policies and services.

To undertake appropriate research, audit and project management activities.

To assist the team in writing and disseminating research.

GENERAL AND PROFESSIONAL

To maintain ongoing development of own knowledge, skills, and expertise to ensure highest standards of care are delivered.

To engage in clinical and management supervision and performance reviews.

To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development.

To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, local and national policies and issues in relation to the specific patient group and mental health.

The Step Care team is a new and developing multidisciplinary team who are passionate about delivering the highest quality, specialist care and you will have the opportunity to contribute to the full implementation of this new model.

You will be supported with regular supervision from a Clinical Psychologist and Senior staff.

You will gain additional specialist experience and skills relevant to the therapeutic discipline and the service, as agreed with the Clinical Psychologist and other members of the MDT.

**Applicants should have**:

- A minimum of an upper second honours degree in Psychology and be eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society.

**The role requires**:

- Having excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing and being able to communicate with all levels of patients, families, carers and staff in highly emotive settings. And, to communicate sensitive information to patients, carers, colleagues
- Knowledge of psychological theories relevant to mental health conditions and their treatment
- An understanding of and ability to interact with people with mental health problems and disabilities.
- A high degree of organisational skills and ability to adjust

You will need a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

- New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
