We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to fill a crucial role, in a newly forming service, in Oxfordshire. The Oxfordshire At Risk Mental States (ARMS) Service will provide timely assessment, intervention, and monitoring for those at clinical high risk for developing psychosis.

We will be working closely with our well-established Early Intervention in Psychosis Service and with our research partners in the Departments of Psychiatry and Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford, to ensure that we are providing the most effective interventions.

You will be working with a small team of psychologists and psychiatrists to establish and provide a highly specialist service to the clients of the Oxfordshire At Risk Mental State Service, across a variety of settings in the community. Great opportunities for development are available and the post-holder will be supported to deliver manualised cognitive behavioural interventions to individuals and family work to clients and their supporters. You will also support clients to access resources available in the community and contribute to the development of the service.

In this role, you'll be supporting the clinical and psychological care of clients within the new Oxfordshire At Risk Mental State (ARMS) service, across all sectors of care.

You'll be contributing to assessments, providing psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, and working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and the team lead within the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures.

You'll also play a key role in clinically related administration, conduct of audits and service evaluations, collection of team outcome measures., as well as being involved in the development of clinical research projects, teaching, and project work as appropriate.

**Working Environment**:
1. The post-holder will work as part of a small team of experts within the larger Early Intervention Service
2. The ARMS team works closely with successful applicant will also become part of the Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis (O-CAP) team, led by Professor Daniel Freeman, within the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford. The team also works closely with Professor Philip McGuire, Professor of Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford.
3. The post involves independent travel (driving) between sites and there may be potential risk of exposure to unpredictable behaviour from clients or family members in distress. The post-holder should be guided by the local team lone worker policy and Trust risk policy and their supervisor when undertaking visits.
