Are you a Graduate Psychologist with the drive to join an experienced and highly motivated CAMHS Crisis and Home treatment team?

We are seeking an Assistant Psychologist to join our fast paced and dynamic CAMHS Crisis and Home treatment team; We require an enthusiastic, caring individual with some experience in working with either Children or Adults in a mental health setting.

Under regular supervision from a Clinical Psychologist, you will be delivering high quality care and inputting into clinical pathway developments, working alongside highly experienced colleagues including, clinical leads, psychologists, senior mental health practitioners, support workers and consultant psychiatrists. You will work with colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team and so should be able to demonstrate the ability to do so.

You will be contributing to the assessment and treatment of Children and Young People who are experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions. Applicants need to demonstrate the ability to use a wide range of clinical skills and approaches.

There will be opportunity for individual case work, group work and audit. There will be opportunity to receive training in evidence-based treatments such as CBT and DBT.

As the role will involve participation in audit, service evaluation and service development projects, you will support the service in collection of routine data and create reports for commissioners and assist in the development of service evaluation within the service.

- To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
- To assist in the organisation, coordination and running of therapeutic groups for patients and their Families/carers.
- To assist other staff to assess clients and review their care in preparation for multi-disciplinary reviews.
- To assist in the development of psychologically based frameworks for the understanding of patient care across all settings where care takes place including in a community setting.
- To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings and multi-agency meetings
- In common with all clinical psychologists, to receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines where appropriate to gain teaching from other professionals
- To gain wider experience of professional psychology within the NHS over and above that provided within the principal service area where the post holder is employed.
- To develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties and identify own learning needs.
- To contribute to the training and support of other staff in psychological care.
- To assist in the design and implementation of service development projects within the service as required.
- To attend meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed.
- To assist in the design and implementation of audit and research projects
- To undertake data collection, analysis, the production of reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programmes.
- To undertake searches of evidence-based literature and research to assist qualified clinical psychologists in evidence based practice in individual work and work with other team members.
