A post has become available in Oxfordshire's developing Maternal Mental Health Service (which sits within the Specialist Perinatal Service).

**The experience you will gain in this role will include**:
Opportunities to work within a MDT including CBT Therapists and Clinical Psychologists with wide-ranging clinical expertise.

Direct experience of working with adults with moderate-severe mental health problems individually and in groups.

Assisting in the development and evaluation of a new service and the set up of new treatment pathways

Assisting with clinical related project work

You will work under supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist to support and enhance the professional psychological care of patients.

**This will include**:
Assisting with the provision of screening of new referrals and more in-depth psychological assessments

Supporting with 1:1 and group-based psychological interventions to patients with moderate-severe mental health problems

Attending and contributing to MDT and referral meetings

Liaising with other agencies - particularly maternity units within hospitals

Supporting with the collection and scoring of routine outcome measures and patient experience questionnaires

Supporting with service development projects including service audits, evaluation of new treatment pathways, creation of new standard operating procedures.

The MMHS team is a small, friendly team consisting of a Clinical Psychologist, CBT therapist, Trainee Clinical Psychologists and a Specialist Midwife. It sits within the larger Specialist Perinatal Team which includes highly experienced, approachable clinicians, from a variety of different professional backgrounds, who are all passionate about supporting patients with mental health problems within the perinatal period and supporting other staff to gain their experience.

You will be supported with regular supervision from a Clinical Psychologist. You will also be part of a peer supervision group with other Assistant Psychologists employed across the Trust.

Applicants should have a minimum of an upper second honours degree in Psychology and be eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society.

**The role requires**:
Having excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing and being able to communicate with all levels of patients, carers and staff.

An ability to interact with people with mental health problems and disabilities.
