The Events team aims for around 1 day per week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings but again, are flexible on thi**s.**
**About the role**:
John Lewis & Partners is currently recruiting for an Events Officer to join the Local Marketing and Events team at Head Office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering exciting events and experiences for our customers.
As an Events Officer, you will respond to campaign briefs, bringing to life products, propositions and services in an exciting and engaging way. Ensuring our shops are empowered to partake and deliver the events.
Excellent knowledge of the current retail landscape and how customers shop is imperative to this role. You’ll ensure the right technology, budget and ways of working are in place to deliver excellent performance.
**Key responsibilities**:
- You will deliver successful established customer events, both in store and virtually
- Works with Events and Marketing Coordinators in store to ensure shops are able to market their events locally
- Collaborates across Marketing, Digital, Content & Design and Retail to ensure the customer journey is optimised and consistently exceeds expectations
- Works seamlessly with our Creative and Media agencies to deliver best in class marketing activity to drive buzz and excitement regarding our events calendar
- Actively provides insight, knowledge and improvements across planning and delivery
- Take a test and learn and approach, as well as monitor, measure and optimise performance
**What will you be doing?**
- You will be supporting the Local Marketing and Events team in helping deliver successful established customer experiences and events, both in store and virtually, resulting in exemplary customer satisfaction metrics and significant resulting revenue.
- You will deliver events, experiences, creative concepts and key brand moments, using a flexible approach and ability to work on several projects at once. You'll play a key role in providing logistic support with events and will be a main point of contact for branches, suppliers and buying contacts.
- You'll work with cross-functional Partner colleagues to deliver successful experiences for our customers, whilst demonstrating organisation, creative initiative and the ability to work independently
- Supporting major projects, as well as delivering certain projects independently across all category areas on/in both in store and virtual platforms.
**Essential skills you’ll need**:
- Enthusiastic about customer experiences and events
- Creative thinking to deliver both tactical and long term strategies to support footfall to our shops
- Experience of understanding customers, tone of voice and ability to drive performance whilst protecting brand values
- Organisational skills to ensure end to end campaigns
- Able to work to multiple timelines from reactive next day planning to 18 months out on strategic initiatives
- Experience of multiple stakeholder management
- Understanding of assessing risk
- Highly organised and an ability to multitask and prioritise
- Strong digital events knowledge and experience
- Customer focused approach with an understanding of key customer success metrics
- Strong communication and listening skills
**Desirable skills you’ll have**:
- Qualifications or professional events management qualification
- Strong presentation skills
- In house and agency experience
- Experience working in agile and cross-matrixed organisations
- Experience in the retail sector
