JOB TITLE: EVENTS COORDINATOR

RESPONSIBLE TO: Events Manager

SALARY: £26,000

The Queens Hotel sits on the edge of Southsea Common just a few minutes’ walk from the beach. Within walking distance is the D-Day Museum and Historic Dockyard, home to the Royal Navy and attractions such as HMS Warrior, HMS Victory and The Mary Rose.

The current owners took over in April 2017 and commenced a painstaking, multi-million pound restoration and redevelopment of the hotel to return her to her former glory. Original features have been uncovered and the lobby, bars and restaurants offer the perfect meeting space for gatherings large and small. There are still many exciting projects in the pipeline and the new events coordinator will take a pivotal role in developing and selling the packages for all of the new spaces.

As events coordinator at The Queens Hotel, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing outstanding and unforgettable events. A motivated individual taking the lead on every part of event coordination including consistent positive communication with the client, kitchen and operations teams, dressing our event and conference rooms, developing packages, ensuring the highest standards of service and evaluating success afterwards.

As the events coordinator, you should be well-organised and possess a sound knowledge of food and beverage service. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills are vital in this role, as our success depends on meeting our client's tailored requirements.

No two days are the same at the Queens Hotel, we look after a range of events from weddings, private celebrations, corporate conferences and naval reunion weekends to community led events such as Pride Portsmouth and Southsea Food Festival.

We are looking for someone with experience coordinating multiple events, with a strong focus on weddings, who has a can-do attitude and is passionate about their career. We have a strong team work ethic at the Queens and all jump in where necessary to make every day a success.

**Working hours**: 45 hours per week as per business requirements (evenings and weekends will be required)
