**Job overview**:
We are looking for an experienced part-time PPC to join our friendly Trauma & Orthopaedic department based at St Helier Hospital.

The post holders will support the provision of the highest quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support and continuous improvement.

Based in a specialty clinical team, the post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients’ pathway of care, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment and discharge.

To provide a patient-focused service that supports clinical staff in the provision of efficient integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensure that patients are fit, willing and able to be treated and that they are treated in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.

The post holder will ensure high levels of patient care and will ensure clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focused and knowledgeable point of contact.

**Main duties of the job**:
**Trauma & Orthopaedic Patient Pathway Coordinator Band 4**:
Based in T & O, the post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to a patient’s pathway whilst under the orthopaedic services care, tracking and booking orthopaedic procedures. To provide a patient focused service that supports clinical staff in the provision of efficient integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensures that patients are fit, willing and able to be treated and that they are treated in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.

The post holder will ensure high levels of patient care and will ensure clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focused and knowledgeable point of contact. They must ideally have iPM and iCM experience.

**Knowledge and Skills**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Computer literate, with experience of using a keyboard
- Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection principles
- Good interpersonal and customer care skills
- The ability to prioritise tasks effectively

**Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Knowledge of a full range of IT/Patient administration systems
- Knowledge of patient administration work in a healthcare setting.
- Experience of dealing with patients over the telephone

**Desirable criteria**:

- Knowledge of booking surgery

**Qualifications**:
**Essential criteria**:

- GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent.

**Desirable criteria**:

- NVQ level 3/ A Level or equivalent
