**Job overview**:
Do you have a passion and experience of community engagement, research and want to assist in reducing health inequalities?

You will work in partnership with Research & Innovation colleagues, NHS staff and community based organisations to increase involvement in research of under-represented individuals and groups, working across the areas service by Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust

**Main duties of the job**:
You will provide support to the research engagement function to increase participation in relevant research trials. Working closely with the Health Inequalities Research Lead, you will contribute to the development of a programme of work that aims to improve access to research for under-represented groups.

You will develop and maintain relevant information, specifically with respect to local community groups and patient interest groups etc.

Acting as the key point of contact, you will engage with established community links to develop increase awareness and understanding of research. You will ensure all activities are accurately recorded and work with the Health Inequalities Research Lead to monitor outcomes and impact of programmes of work.

- Knowledge and in-depth understanding of the impact of health inequalities for under-served groups.
- Experience of working with individuals/ communities most impacted by health inequalities

**Desirable criteria**:

- Understanding of the barriers to accessing health-based research.
