**Job overview**:
An exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant to work on a pioneering longitudinal study investigating post-stroke cognitive decline.

The post-holder will contribute to maintenance of the Stroke IMPaCT study delivery and management with appropriate support and in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the NHS Research Governance Framework standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Trust policies. The post
- holder will be required to assist in research study activities including informed consent, collecting data, completing paper and electronic case report forms, assisting the participants with questionnaire completion, participant assessments including venepuncture. They will also be involved supporting key study personnel.

As part of the role, the post-holder will have the opportunity to attend monthly virtual seminars run by the wider Stroke IMPaCT Network.

**Main duties of the job**:
You will be part of an enthusiastic research community with the opportunity to share best practice with highly experienced colleagues. We have the capacity to take on developmental research professionals and to provide you with full development al support.

The trials conducted by the Acute Research Delivery at Salford Royal Hospital include haemostatic emergency trials, hyperacute stroke intervention, Traumatic brain injury and stem cells implantation, to name a few.

Conduct Stroke IMPaCT cognitive and gait assessments. Arrange and co-ordinate Stroke IMPaCT participant visits.

Assist with screening and recruitment of control participants. Collect blood samples and assist with data collection and auditing.

Optional - Deliver home visits.

- A Level, Diploma, NVQ3 or equivalent
- Previous experience of working autonomously
- ECDL or equivalent qualification (or experience) demonstrating computer literacy

**Desirable criteria**:

- Evidence of GCP training
- Experience of working within a health care system
- Psychology degree or background in psychological and or cognitive assessments

**Knowledge, skills & experience**:
