**Job overview**:

- An exciting opportunity has arisen, for a motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant to join our Research Delivery Team, supporting recruitment to Neuro and Neurodegenerative trials based at Salford Care Organisation. The successful post holder will be expected to support the team based at our other care organisations as and when required.The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group aims to be the safest organisation in the NHS through providing safe, clean and personal care to every patient, every time.

We are an integrated provider of hospital, community and primary care services, including the University Teaching Hospital. Our team of 6,000 staff provide local services to the City of Salford and specialist services to Greater Manchester and beyond.

**Main duties of the job**:

- The Neuro Research Delivery team supports and delivers research within many neurological and neurodegenerative conditions, for example Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Epilepsy and Neuromuscular conditions
- We are looking for a motivated and effective communicator who is able to actively engage with our patients and be able to invite participation into research studies, both commercial and academic. You will need to take ownership and delivery of work with, be able to work within a team and have a desire to develop your research skills. You should be able to organise your own workload and be able to demonstrate initiative, within the ethically approved confines research protocols and Good Clinical Practice.**Working for our organisation**:
The Northern Care Alliance (NCA)was launched in April 2017, the NCA serves over one million people across Greater Manchester in the care organisations of Bury, Rochdale, Salford and Oldham.

With this role you will be based at Summerfield House within the Salford Care Organisation and will form part of a team of research nurses, research practitioners, research assistants and a clinical trial administrator. Some cross site working may be required. We are passionate about driving forward significant improvements to the provision of safe, high-quality integrated health care within all our care organisations.

- Computer literacy, ECDL or equivalent qualification or experience
- Evidence of ICH-GCP training

**Desirable criteria**:

- Graduate degree
- A-Level, Diploma, NVQ3 or equivalent

**Experience**:

- Previous experience of working autonomously
- Experience of administrative work including data management
- Evidence of good communication skills
- Evidence of good organisational skills
- Experience of working within a healthcare system

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience of working under tight/unexpected deadlines
