**Role**: Medical Administrator/Clinical Coder - 37 hours per week.
**Reports to**:Deputy Practice Manager/Practice Manager
**Job Summary**
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, highly motivated Administrator who shares our commitment and passion to providing high quality patient-centred service.
In this role you will be responsible for handling and directing incoming clinical correspondence. You will be responsible for forwarding information onto the appropriate clinical staff and ensuring information is accurately coded onto patient clinical records.
This role involves scanning and filing of records, processing electronic records, forwarding records to appropriate clinician and coding information onto patient notes in line with

**General Duties**:
- Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient’s healthcare records.
- Accurately coding and processing incoming correspondence.
- Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient’s correspondence coding appropriately and completing any detailed requests.
- Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary.
- Process all incoming electronic documents.
- To ensure that easily identifiable clinical content, usually investigation data, is entered onto the practice computer system to help with DQOFH achievement and general good practice guidelines.
- Any other duties deemed appropriate by the Practice Manager.

**Health & safety**:
The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health& Safety Policy, to include:
- Using personal security systems with in the workplace according to practice guidelines.
- Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks.
- Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills.
- Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards.
- Reporting potential risks identified.
