The Careers Service offers a comprehensive range of Faculty/School and centrally co-ordinated activities, opportunities and support for students to help them develop their skills and experiences in order to be successful in the world of work. As a member of the Student Engagement and Careers Operations team, you will contribute to the delivery of a student-focused, professional, friendly and efficient student careers service and associated programmes and initiatives. One key aspect of the role is to prepare and deliver a range of student mentoring programmes. These programmes are a mixture of face to face and online platform delivery and the role will support engagement for students and recruitment of Mentors to the programmes.

The role will also oversee as required a number of student led engagement programmes and initiatives which may flex throughout the year and change as the service evolves. This will require liasing, organising, delivering, communicating, and working with a wide-range of students and other stakeholders across the University.

You will ideally have:

- excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, combined with strong ICT skills and a commitment to delivering a high-quality customer service
- previous experience of working within both an office administration and front-line customer facing role, with the ability to create and maintain client relationships
- previous experience of working in a HE, Careers and/or Recruitment setting would be advantageous
- a flexible approach, working across the range of Careers service provision and undertaking occasional evening and weekend work
- the ability to act as a positive advocate for change and as an ambassador for the whole Careers Service
- flexibility, adaptability and an ability to continuously drive improvements in our service offer, processes and systems

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis for 6 months to cover a period of maternity/adoption leave.
