- Job description- Flooding represents a challenge both now and into the future as the impacts of climate change become apparent. Having a strategic overview of all sources of flooding, the Environment Agency has a key role to play in the management and reduction of flood risk.
As a Flood Resilience Advisor in the Partnerships and Strategic Overview (PSO) Evidence and Flood Warning Team you will be responsible for overseeing the Flood Warning Service in the North East. You will help us, our communities, and our partner organisations across the region prepare for and become resilient to the risk of flooding.
Through this role you will:

- Work with the team to maintain and improve our Flood Warning Service and co-ordinate the local delivery of national projects.
- Define, create, provide, maintain and improve our data, documents, processes and systems.
- Provide technical leadership, helping coach, mentor and train others.
- Project Manage flood warning improvement studies.
- Act as local client for data provision and flood modelling, warning and forecasting.
- Make improvements to our processes and service delivery.
- Support the Team Leader to prioritise and manage the team's workload, and set the strategic direction of the team.
- Maintaining key relationships to ensure effective delivery of our programme, including with national colleagues, local area teams and our

professional partners.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team- The PSO Evidence and Flood Warning Team plays a critical role in the EA’s long-term goal: “A nation ready to respond and adapt to flooding & coastal change”. We ensure that our staff, partners and communities are able to respond effectively before, during and after a flood. We do this by managing our Flood Warning Service, supporting our partners and communities and by ensuring our flood warning duty officers are trained and capable.

- Experience of delivering training.
- Ability to organise and deliver time critical work. by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data / information.
- Able to deliver successful outcomes.
- GIS Skills.
- Experience of managing projects and programmes.
