**About the job**

This role is responsible for providing consistent and robust advice and support to managers on sensitive people management issues and policies. They will enable decisions to be taken which are consistent with the GLA’s objectives and legal obligations.

They work closely with Employee Relations colleagues to implement policies and programmes to support Employee Relations casework development and management across the GLA.

**Key responsibilities**
- Responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive support service to GLA managers in relation to tier 2 casework e.g resolution, discipline, long term absence, unsatisfactory probation, irregular attendance, mediation.
- Work closely with the HR helpdesk to manage casework escalated from tier 1 within the shared service.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of project work related to Employee Relations casework.
- Work with the Business Partner team to provide advice, support and coaching to managers and staff on the implementation of Employee Relations casework related policies and initiatives, including upskilling managers.
- Support with any necessary communications of the Employee Relations Strategy and engagement with Staff Networks and Union colleagues, including working with internal communications.

**Skills, knowledge, and experience**
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience.
- Experience of working in a generalist HR role, providing coaching and advisory support to managers and staff (e.g. employee relations, change management, training, performance management, management of attendance, analysing HR metrics and data)
