**About us**

Our goal is to Uprising Youth and Community are a growing Christian youth work charity based in Ashford, Kent. With over 10 years of experience in the local area we are looking to recruit a Project Lead for our Community Action Teams (CAT) project. CAT is Uprising’s practical expression of serving the communities we work in and works closely with Ashford Borough Council and other partners providing a gardening service that aims to improve local areas. This project also works closely with Uprisings Aspire+ project by providing volunteering opportunities for students on the programme. The project also provides volunteering opportunities for those seeking employment and support in the wider community..

The successful applicant would be responsible for developing and growing the Community Action Teams project. The successful applicant would also need to engage young people in a meaningful way with the project and serve as a positive role model.

We are therefore seeking to appoint a project lead who is passionate about community work, working with young people, patient and understanding, and who is strongly aware of the positive impact wellbeing, nurture and mentoring can have on young people.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
**Community Action Teams (Cat) Lead**:

- To create a working environment in CAT that reflects the ethos of Uprising Youth and Community.
- Maintain professional relationships with existing partners, and look to develop new partnerships that strengthen the project.
- To carry out and deliver all Community Action referrals to a high standard, engaging with all clients.
- To develop capacity in the project by bringing more funding into Uprising - through new contracts, adhoc work, bid writing.
- Ensure that all KPI’s attached to funding are met and reported back to deadlines.
- Ensure that schemes of works are adhered too, and any changes are fed back to CEO and partners.
- Make sure all equipment (petrol and hand tools) are maintained to a high standard.
- Work closely with Aspire+ lead to ensure that students are engaged with CAT in a positive way as part of their work placement.
- To collate and track all hours completed by Aspire students on the project.
- Develop an apprenticeship pathway for Aspire students that enjoy this element of the course.

Youth Coordinator

**Duties**:

- Develop and implement programs and activities for youth in the community
- Provide guidance and support to youth in areas such as education, career development, and personal growth
- Coordinate and facilitate workshops and events focused on child welfare, conflict management, and other relevant topics
- Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to enhance services and resources for youth
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs and strengths of individual youth
- Create and maintain records of youth participation and progress
- Advocate for the rights and well-being of youth in the community

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
- Experience working with youth in a community-based setting
- Knowledge of child welfare issues and best practices
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
