You will be responsible for managing the Trust's Legal Services team andproviding guidance and supervision to team members on all aspects of Legal Services . You'll co-ordinate the management and investigation of claims and potential claims in liaison with NHS Resolution and co-ordinate and manage the preparation and representation of the Trust at Inquests

Main duties of the job

Qualifications

Essential

Degree level education in relevant subject Claims Management Diploma

Desirable

Medical terminology awareness Degree in Law (or other degree with completion of relevant conversion course GDL)

Experience

Essential

Experience of working in the NHS, local authority, solicitors practice or insurance company handling claims Experience of managing Coronial matters Experience of defending claims against healthcare providers Experience of managing an in-house legal team

Desirable

Experience of working in a similar role for a community healthcare provider

Skills & Abilities

Essential

The ability to deliver training and presentations to audience from non-legal backgrounds Competence in the use of Datix and NHS Resolution
