The Neurociences team at Charing Cross Hospital are looking for a Neurosciences Administrator to join our friendly, dynamic and patient-centred team within the Neurology department.

The post holder will provide a comprehensive and highly efficient administration service for Neurosciences, focusing within the Neurology speciality and Botox.

To respond to and deal with a variety of often complex booking requests in a timely manner, whether by telephone or in person, ensuring that patients are booked according to clinical priority and the Trust Access Policy taking into account both patients’ choice and the need to ensure slot utilisation.

- Botox clinic coordination and management, including booking appointments and ensuring correct utilisation.
- Receive post, routine correspondence and undertake follow-up action as directed by the unit manager or team leader.
- To receive and respond to queries from external parties, patients and relatives, or other departments, escalating more complex queries to the relevant member of the team.
- To act as first point of contact for patients and members of the general public seeking information and support from the hospital.
- The post holder must be able to triage the calls appropriately, as well as deal sympathetically with people who may be bereaved, distressed or angry and escalate appropriately.
- Assist with answering queries as directed by the unit manager or team lead, ensuring that when possible they are resolved early and arranging for necessary action to be expedited.
- Ensure clinical administration is dealt with effectively, including those matters where liaison with other departments, hospitals or services is necessary.
- To process correspondence or other documents on behalf of the consultants and managers, either by outsourced electronic Dragon IT system or typing as required.
- General administration duties such as photocopying, scanning and electronic filing.
- Ensure that patient information systems are used to enhance the efficient running of the service as necessary.
- Work with the wider team to support the development and introduction of new ways of working.
