Post 1 - 34 hours

Post 2 - 22.5 hours

The above posts are available in this extremely busy department at Stepping Hill Hospital. The successful applicant will belong to an important integrated Ophthalmology service provided 365 days of the year.

This is a clerical officer role within the Stockport Eye Centre. Supporting the team with various duties within the department. The ability to work on your own initiative to support the management of the team and present a quality service to all users is essential, you will also be required to work closely with the other members of the operational team.

Knowledge of Health Records procedures and systems, specifically PAS (Patient Administration System), Evolve (electronic case note) and ThetareMan are desirable but not essential as training will be provided. You must be organised, numerate, methodical and thorough with an enthusiastic and motivated approach to work. People skills, organisational skills and acceptance of constant changes in the workplace are essential.

You will be a member of a team who provide a valuable essential service to the Trust. Filing of case-notes, retrieval and presentation of case-notes to the Stockport Eye Centre, admitting and discharging patients, general telephone enquiries from the public and other staff, preparing case-notes for clinics and organising reception cover, scanning and training of staff.

To provide administrative support to the team in the Stockport Eye Centre who organise and provide all records functions within the department including admitting and discharging inpatients and booking patient appointments following discharge.

Ensure availability of the patient health record at point of patient care whilst ensuring reception cover is provided at all times and assisting with general cover arrangements.

- If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £43.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
