Support Worker Waking Nights
**Are you looking for night time work? Could you support people with learning disabilities?**
The people we support are very active during the day and may want to chat about their activities and what they've been up to before they go to bed. What they really need, is someone who is available when they are wakeful at night and to check at regular intervals to ensure they are comfortable and getting a good night's sleep ready for the next day.
Your role will also include cleaning duties to ensure the home is tidy for the morning. This is an important role to make sure people feel safe at all times and not vulnerable during the night so this is more about providing an emotional reassurance
You'll support three young men; Ben, Joe and Gary*, who live gloriously ordinary lives in Abingdon.
Ben has a great sense of humour and is full of chat and banter, although he needs some peace and quiet as well. He's a good swimmer and enjoys swimming with other people. He enjoys train travel, shopping and he’s a fast walker Joe knows his own mind and how he wants to live his life, which includes a love of music. Gary is a beautiful, warm human being who loves horses, nature and art.
You don't need experience: we provide extensive free training. You'll receive a competitive salary of £11 per hour and a range of benefits including access to the valuable Blue Light discount card.

**About you**
You don’t need any particular experience or qualifications. We sometimes find people with an interest in psychology do well in this role, or perhaps you're considering a specialist career supporting autistic people.
You will need a manual driving licence (the men have their own cars). You'll be a ‘people person’, creative, flexible and have bucket loads of initiative and great resilience.
**About us**
