**About You**

We’re looking for a Business Administration Apprentice to join our McCarthy Stone Northern Team working in our York office. Our exciting and innovative Apprenticeship Programme is designed to attract and develop a diverse range of talented individuals who will contribute to the continued growth and success of our business.

Starting in September 2024, this role will be both challenging and rewarding with exposure to a fast paced, vibrant environment. By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll have the initial skills and knowledge needed for a career in Business Administration along with practical experience and a nationally recognised qualification.

Being part of a cohort of apprentices across the UK, you’ll be supported every step of the way by your manager, our training provider, and a workplace mentor. In addition to this you’ll have wrap-around support from the Early Careers Lead. You’ll get dedicated time to focus on achieving your Level 3 apprenticeship qualification which will set you up for success in your future.

**Your Attributes**:
**You will have**:

- Equivalent of 5 GCSEs, grades A*-C or 9-4, including Maths and English.
- Some knowledge or experience of working in business administration or an office environment would be an advantage but not a requirement.

**Your Responsibilities**:
**What does a Business Administrator do?**

Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. They have a focus on adding value and contributing to the efficiency of an organisation, through supporting the different business areas, working across teams and resolving issues.

In this role you will be working alongside the Office Manager, able to demonstrate strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopt a proactive approach to supporting colleagues across the northern division.

**Some of the key tasks you will undertake include**:

- Providing administrative support to the northern divisional team
- Ensure the smooth day to day running of the York office and be a key member of the office coordination team.
- Preparing presentations and reports for the divisional management team as required
- Get involved with the organisation of divisional events such as annual kick off meetings, social events and charity fund raising.
- Prepare and co-ordinate meeting agendas and recording of minutes.
- Organise travel and accommodation for divisional management in line with the company policy.
- Be a key member of the northern employee focus group and social committee.

**An insight into the apprenticeship role**:
You will be shadowing our office management team, gaining a better understanding of the role. You will be allocated tasks, attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders allowing you to further your knowledge and expand your network.

Over the course of your apprenticeship, you will be given more and more responsibilities, eventually having responsibility for specific tasks. You will keep a daily diary of events and your learnings. Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues.
