An exciting opportunity has arisen for two SEN Post 14 Co-Ordinator within the SEN Service.

SEN is a statutory service providing support to children and young people with SEN who have an Education Health and Care Plan. We have 4,300 EHCPs.

As pathfinders for the SEND Reforms, Enfield are passionate & ambitious about improving the outcomes of Children & Young People aged 0-25 in the borough with Special Educational Needs &/or Disability. We have a good reputation as a service and recently had a positive Ofsted/CQC Covid 19 review. The service is well supported by, The Director of Education, Head of Service and our partners in the Educational Psychology Service, Admissions, School Improvement and Children and Adult service leads.

To be successful in this role, you will have the skills to work as part of a team, but also on your own initiative. Good communication skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise work. You will also need to be ICT proficient and will need to learn how to use the case management system. SEN is a busy service so the ability to be able to work at a fast pace and personal resilience skills are extremely important.

You will need to have knowledge of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice, Children and Families Act and The Equalities Act and be able to support parents/carers and young people on the opportunities that are available within the Local Offer.

You will need an understanding of the Further Education and employment market place and the qualification pathways; an understanding of legislation relating to post-16 including the EHC cease process, Care Act Assessments, Mental Capacity Act and Post-16 support service. You will also need an ability to discern between a Further Education/Employment learner & Adult Social Care user.

Previous experience of working within a statutory service is not essential but is desired. A track record of exceptional customer service, the ability to think with a person-centred approach and a high standard of written English and organisation skills to be able to produce outstanding quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) are all necessary.
