In addition to the MDT teams the post holder will also join an integrated, friendly and supportive group of 16 Clinical Psychologists working across the Nottingham City and conurbation multi-disciplinary CAMHs; including Children Looked After services. There are good opportunities for CPD, strong mechanisms for support and good links with the DClinpsy courses at Trent, Sheffield and Leicester University.

The post holder is required to hold a post graduate doctorate in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS and have Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration. Applications will also be considered for clinical psychologists due to qualify in September 2021.

The post holder will be supported within the MDT team which provides specialist assessment, treatment and support services to children and young people up to 19 years, and their families who present with a broad range of mental health concerns. There will be a particular emphasis on clinical psychology supporting alternative formulation where indicated from assessments findings. Knowledge of attachment theory and trauma presentations alongside neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessment skills will be important. There will be opportunity for further development and training of specialist assessment skills.

The post also offers a broad range of experience including consultation, training and supporting clinical networks serving this care group across the Mansfield and Ashfield. There will be opportunity for audit, service evaluation and research.

1. To provide specialist psychological assessment of clients referred to both the Community CAMHS and Neurodevelopmental pathway, based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of highly complex psychological data from a variety of sources.
2. To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s mental health problems and or neurodevelopmental needs.
3. To undertake risk assessment and management for clients.
4. To provide advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals and services contributing directly to client’s treatment plan.
5. To provide a clinical psychology perspective in multi-disciplinary assessments and treatment programmes.
6. Post assessment liaison with agencies supporting a child to ensure that assessment results are understood and well integrated into care and or education plans.
7. To act, as case coordinator where appropriate, for the planning and review of care plans for children accessing assessment and or treatment/support.
8. To provide advice to other professionals & agencies on psychological aspects of identified risks noted within assessment.
