**As a Support Coach, a typical day might include**:
- Recruitment to all programmes, identifying the best starting point for everyone you sign up
- Owning the customer support journey for your area, working with customers on an individual and group basis, assessing their skills, barriers and challenges and supporting them to produce a personalised action plan
- Carrying out an initial assessment, using our suite of assessment tools including outcome star, to help them make informed decisions.
- Managing a caseload of customers for their whole journey with us - ensuring attendance, achievement and progression.
- reviewing their progress and helping them succeed through regular contact, proactive engagement and active planning of interventions delivered across all programmes
- Building relationships with a wide range of other local support services to ensure we can offer a full and holistic package of support, meeting all participant and contract needs.
- Completing learner records and monitoring reports in line with programme, ensuring evidence is collated and stored in line with requirements.
- Being responsible for Quality Assurance of your teaching to ensure our customers receive the best service possible, welcoming people from across the team into the teaching setting to observe learning, get involved and help learners achieve.
- Planning, preparing, delivering and evaluating all the courses you lead.
- Preparing plans, schemes of work and learning materials for each session, making them available for monitoring or lesson observation visits and maintaining them.
- Supporting the delivery of events, workshops, drop-ins and activities to increase opportunities to cross-sell our services, attract sign ups to activities and learning. Targeting activities that serves our customer groups on other programmes across our wider learning hub.

Additionally our support coach roles have the opportunity to take a lead and responsibility for contracts. Where this is in their role, they will:
- Carry out regular caseload reviews with those delivering on your contract (or support on others), to achieve outcomes
- Carry out compliance checks and attend funder training and meetings as required
- Ensure delivery against quality and performance targets for your contract, escalating any risks or areas of concern in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with paperwork, delivery and quality standards in line with funder expectations
- Produce reports on progress each month, and ad hoc for funder requirements, including sharing good news stories and best practice, risks, financial performance and forecasts for
- Manage the day-to-day contact with the funder for that contract
- Ensure paperwork and participant records for the customer journey is delivered in a compliant way to our quality standards and in line with timescales every month

**The must haves**:
- A willingness and ability to deliver a range of courses beyond your primary area of expertise with an enthusiasm to develop your skills to adapt our delivery to needs of our learners.
- Outcome star training undertaken
- Qualification in Mentoring, Advice and Guidance or similar, or a mental health qualification
- Are comfortable with, and can deliver, both 1-2-1 and group sessions in their role**.**:
- L3 Award in Education and Training (formerly PTLLS) or Teaching qualification, and/or willingness to undergo further training.
- An understanding of the principles underpinning teaching adults, i.e. planning, delivery, assessment and evaluation of learning.
- Experience of professionally engaging with adults and children
- A genuine commitment to the personal and occupational success of the long term unemployed
- Knowledge funded projects including European social funded projects
- Ability to work as a team, under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- A good understanding of the barriers faced by inactive people, and the solutions that may be able to benefit them
- Ability to work collaboratively with others, whether in the same team or external support providers
