TECHNOLOGY AND PLANNING SPECIALIST (RETAIL)

**Salary**: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum

Reports to: Project Manager (Retail Strategy Delivery)

Department: Trading

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time 35 hours per week. We would be open to considering compressed hours.

Location: Stratford, London Office-based with high flexibility (1-2 days per week in the office)

We are looking for a highly organised professional with strong technology and data skills to support the development and delivery of Cancer Research UK’s Retail technical roadmap. You will be responsible for scheduling changes, enhancements, and fixes to the technology systems and services for of our circa 600 stores, superstores as well as online marketplace. Acting as the day-to-day contact and product expert for all Retail teams supporting in the delivery of business-as-usual operations. You will also partner with Cancer Research UK’s Technology Directorate to support and help to deliver technology initiatives at a localised and national level, which support the long-term plan and the maintaining of business-critical shop infrastructure.

What will I be doing?- Supporting the development and delivery of the Retail technical roadmap, scheduling changes, enhancements, and fixes, to the technology systems and services used by Cancer Research UK’s Retail Team. This activity includes championing improvements to till devices, it is associated software and hardware peripherals, for 600 Cancer Research UK shop’s, throughout the UK.- Providing support and advice on several complex tech lead projects, helping to identify success measures, work with project teams/stakeholders and provide timely updates to Operational Support Manager and Strategy & Planning Manager- Supporting both short and long-term departmental objectives/outcomes relating to Tech, maintaining a strong understanding of the strategic and performance objectives of Retail- Working proactively with the Operational Support Manager to support the day-to-day management of EPOS technology in Retail, ensuring an elevated level of supporter experience. This includes engaging directly with shop and regional Retail staff to gather more information about, and provide advice on, issues/problems.- Building a detailed level of technical knowledge of Retail’s systems and processes to support Retail teams with system changes or operational activities throughout the year.- Being responsible for understanding the diverse types of user access control groups for the systems used by Retail, such as till software and owning the change control process, ensuring end users access to technology systems- Assisting the Service Delivery Manager with Technology security and compliance activities including user activity monitoring and annual PCI DSS compliance audit- Taking responsibility for providing insight on how tech and new digital technologies can help Retail and CRUK to achieve its goals.- Supporting the Operational Support Manager in updating Retail’s technical roadmap, including key milestones and deadlines and communication with the Retail Heads team- Supporting and help in the collation of data and review for Tech led procurement and RFI activity

What skills will I need?- Ideally good knowledge and experience of retail operations and support functions or transferrable experience- Ideally good knowledge of retail technical requirements and EPoS systems or transferrable experience.- Good knowledge of customer and supporter experience standards and measurement- Practical knowledge of project management techniques- Experience in building collaborative and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders- Demonstrates commitment to new approaches driving new ways of working showing resilience and stamina.- Good interpersonal and communication skills- High level of drive and enthusiasm, highly motivated and ability to work under pressure- Excellent Excel skills and good experience of databases, spreadsheets and report writing- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise and manage own workload- Able and willing to go above and beyond this position description to ensure success, with flexibility and willingness to perform other tasks as needed.
