HR Assistant opportunity available working for a leading Charity based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. This role is full time and permanent working 37 hours per week and offers hybrid / home working.

The HR Assistant provides support to the HR team across the full range of HR work in a professional, efficient and proactive manner, continually seeking to improve and support service delivery to colleagues across the organisation.
- Act as the first point of contact for managers and staff for day to day HR issues and needs such as recruitment and terms and conditions of employment; escalating relevant issues to the HR Manager.
- To provide advice to Managers in respect of drafting recruitment advertising, job descriptions and person specification, and to assist in the selection process as required. Responsibility for ensuring all pre-employment checks are carried out.
- Developing and maintaining HR records and databases, ensuring managers and staff complete required information in a timely manner; updating and developing all HR related documentation to support this activity.
- Provide support, coaching and guidance to line managers on all HR processes.
- Training and advising users on HR systems and processes including being the lead contact for resolving or supporting the resolution of problems related to the operation of the database.Standard operating procedures, training and coaching others.
- Have a good knowledge of GDPR and compliance, maintaining HR records and databases to keep records secure.
- Oversee approval process for recruitment and contract changes, ensuring accurate employment offers and contracts of employment are issued in a timely manner.Liaise with payroll, in particular updating payroll re changes that affect salary payments.
- Providing management information as necessary.
- To keep up to date with HR developments and legislation, ensuring that knowledge is share within HR.
- Minute or note taking for HR Meetings.
- Supporting special HR projects and any general HR admin tasks as required. e.g Auditing HR files.
