JOB SUMMARY This post will work at senior management level within the organisation to manage and support our expanding Wellbeing, Information & Supportive Care Services (SCS). In addition, the post holder will lead and promote Hospice services through a range of raising awareness and community engagement initiatives and will, with other members of the senior team, play a key role in developing strategic and commissioning frameworks that will maintain and improve service delivery and development and secure sustainable funding in the immediate and longer term future. The post holder will work closely with Assistant Director of Governance and Supportive Care Services in order to maintain the highest standards of care and innovation across all related clinical services and acting as their deputy where required. MAIN DUTIES: 1.

To have strategic responsibility for the management of Supportive Care Service delivery, deployment and education of staff relating to all managed services. Ensuring attention and alignment to the overarching Hospice Business plan, connecting to the individual service plans based on the operational activity, identified service specific outcomes, impact, service model and financing including budget management. 2. To oversee the WISH lead and support to direct and manage the Wellbeing Team within the Wellbeing, Information & Supportive Care Services and be accountable for service interventions and evaluation so that services are outcome focussed and provide the highest quality for service users at all times supporting the service co-ordinators/service lead to manage their own services.

3. The post holder will ensure that the operational policies for each service are concise, clear and fit for purpose and that there is an overarching, unified Supportive Care Services Operational policy that staff are aware of and can commit to implementing. 4. To fulfil a wider management role, ensuring the services are effective and efficient and that they respond to changing circumstances and demands flexibly and creatively.

5. Working closely with DOVE the Adult and Childrens Bereavement Service team leads to develop and to have oversight of the Bereavement Support including counselling and chaplaincy support. To develop and strategically oversee service delivery, deployment and development of staff and the quality and monitoring of service delivery. Bereavement 6.

To strategically support the development of a multi-faith approach to spiritual care across all Hospice services. 7. The post holder will always act as a resource and support to Hospice and community professionals by offering specialist knowledge and skills, meeting and understanding the psychosocial, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients/service users. 8.

Working with the Director of Care and Commissioning to extend the scope of Supportive Care Services by attracting increased commissioning and embracing income generation opportunities where these do not compromise core service criteria and existing patient/service user outcomes 9. Project Lead for identified projects as the role progresses 10. Supporting the Change to Patient Experience and Clinical Effectiveness Team and Registered Manager with all aspects of complaints management when required 11. Working with the Supportive Care Service Leads and Assistant Director of Governance and Supportive Care Services to develop a strong, respectful, mutually supportive and dynamic management team to drive the services forward and ensure staff are supported and developed to their full potential 12.

To deputise for the Assistant Director of Governance and Supportive Care Services as required internally and externally, taking a lead in role related issues working at a local, regional and national level. 13. To lead on identified key issues/projects organisation wide, reporting back to Assistant Director of Governance and Supportive Care Services as well as the wider clinical team e.g. through the Senior Management Team meetings (SMT).

Delivering organisational projects collaboratively with other members of the SMT against the business plan. 14. To lead on/coordinate and participate in community engagement activities across the locality to raise the profile of Hospice services and raising awareness of choices in end-of-life care. 15.

17. In conjunction with Assistant Director of Governance and Supportive Care to lead and deliver the overall strategic development of the Wellbeing, Information and Supportive Care Services, including promotion and/or representation of one or more services. 18. To support the development of wellbeing strategy organisationally.

Working with the SCS Leads, to be responsible for clinical standards, policies and processes and to participate in standard setting re: clinical procedures and risk assessment, and audit of same, including promoting competency completion and development within the teams under the remit of the post. 20.
